16U Schultz Wins First Ever National Championship for the Outlaws!
MI Outlaws 16U Schultz wins first ever National Championship for the Outlaw organization by taking the NSA “A” World Series/National Championship title on July 25th in Chattanooga, TN.
This Outlaw team is quite unique in the ever changing world of kid’s travel sports considering the loyalty of the players to both the organization and each other – with 87 total playing years of travel softball, this team has 81 years with the Outlaws and 62 years together compiling a 6 year record of 318-102-10.
The National Championship final game was 1-0 thru 4 innings before the Outlaws exploded for 4 runs in the bottom of the 5th and held for a 5-0 shutout of the IN Irish Elite. Sydney Schultz pitched a 2 hitter with no walks & two strikeouts in the Championship game and Teresa Menzel also pitched a 2 hitter with no walks & two strikeouts in the key semi-final 2-1 win over the Bombers of Tampa, FL. The team finished the season at 55-18-7.
