Michigan Outlaws 16u Pratt wins the Davison Classic, earning their second berth to NSA Worlds!
The Outlaw 16u Pratt girls battled the heat along with each team that came their way. They cranked out 58 hits and scored 54 runs this weekend leading them to their championship! They started off the tournament scoring 7 runs in the first three innings, leading them to a 11-2 mercy over the Mayhem on Saturday morning. From there, they went on to play Line Drive Gold. The girls scored eight runs in the first three innings leading them to another mercy with a final score of 10-0. The girls had a break and a rain delay after their first two games. The extreme heat and bad weather couldn't stop this team from another victory as they turned out six runs in the second inning giving them a 10-1 win over the Northern Bay Blazers! This finished out their Saturday but left them knowing they would need to win back to back games on Sunday to get them to the championship game.
The Outlaw 16u Pratt team showed up Sunday morning ready to go all the way and started the day off by playing Edge. A superb sixth inning enabled the girls to come back from a 2-0 deficit to win the game 5-2. Immediately following the win against Edge, the girls played a tumultuous game against the Shamrocks from Battle Creek. The girls dug their way out of a 7-0 deficit to beat the Shamrocks 12-9. This win took the girls to the championship game where they would face the Foster Oilers from Marysville. It was a tie game at 1 run each until the Outlaw girls put up three runs in the fourth and an additional two runs in the fifth inning. The girls allowed two runs by the Oilers in the fifth, but held onto their lead to finish the game with a 6-3 win.
The girls faced some strong teams this weekend and battled hard to win the tournament. The win granted them a berth to the NSA World Series, which they had already earned a couple of weeks ago by placing 2nd in NSA States. The team is headed to Indianapolis on Monday morning to continue their battle and show the other forty-seven 16u teams at Worlds what Outlaw girls are made of!
12U Carlson takes 2nd at NSA Line Drive Grand Slam and earns their World Series berth!
Another excellent weekend for Softball and the 12U Carlson team continues to perform at the top of their game. During the Line Drive Grand Slam tournament, Saturday games would start off with an early game against the Freeland Elite team. With a rather impressive win, the next game would be against the Midland Lady Explorers. 12U Carlson pulled it together and won their 2nd game of the day, only allowing 2 runs in 2 games. This would qualify them for the #1 position in their bracket, and Sunday would be their first bracket game.
The 12U team would need to win (3) games on Sunday to take the Championship. Their first game was against the Lady Crusaders, if they were to win this would put the team into the quarterfinals against MI Bulldogs North. Another impressive win and the 12U Carlson team was into the quarterfinals. This would be the second time 12U Carlson played MI Bulldogs North, having played them earlier in the 2015 season. It was a hard tough battle between the two teams, with the Outlaws batting around in one inning sealing the win to head to the finals.
This would be the 4th Championship game that the Outlaws 12U team would be in for this 2015 season. The Finals of the NSA Line Drive Grand Slam would put two undefeated teams against one another (Line Drive Express Maroon vs. Outlaws 12U Carlson). It was a very close and tough battle with the score 3-2 in favor of Line Drive, a couple of errors would add 2 more runs for Line Drive late in the game. Once the dust settled Line Drive Express Maroon came out on top 5-3. The 12U Outlaws Carlson girls took their 4th second place trophy and earned their NSA World Series berth! Great Job OUTLAWS!!!
16U Schultz wins NSA "A" States
16u Schultz wins the Michigan NSA A States in Midland. Beating Compuware 11-3 in extra innings. Great day and tournament ladies!
16u Pratt takes 2nd at NSA "B" States and earns their World Series berth!
The tournament started off a bit rocky on Friday 6/26 as the 16u Pratt girls were losing their first game 7-1 against the South Lyon Stealth Red, the girls rallied hard and came back to win the game 8-7. While dealing with bad weather, cold temps and rain delays on Saturday 6/27, the girls kept their spirits high and continued winning as they went on to play Cardinal Heat with an 8-1 win and then played under the lights against the Alpena Thundercats with a 6-3 victory.
The 16u Pratt girls came back Sunday 6/28 to face the Richmond Blues, a win here would put the girls into the championship game, a loss meant they would have battle their way to the top. The Outlaws started off strong and had the lead for most of the game, unfortunately they lost 5-4 in the last inning. The girls immediately played the South Lyon Stealth Red team that they battled on Friday, both teams knowing that a win here would put them into the championship game made this a game of fierce determination on both sides. The game was scoreless until the 6th inning when the Outlaws scored 2 runs, earning them the win 2-0.
The girls turned around and immediately played the Richmond Blues in the championship game, they came off strong scoring 3 runs at their first at bat. This was a tumultuous game, as the Blues scored 10 runs at their first at bat, the Outlaws weren't giving up and battled back putting up runs along the way. The girls played hard but ultimately ended up losing the game 15-11. It was a tough loss, but both teams worked hard. The 16u Outlaws Pratt girls took second place and earned their NSA World Series berth! Great job OUTLAWS!!!
